Grasping Opportunistic Dilettante or Idiot?

Dr. S is pleased to see that while he's been distracted with lab business, Mr. Olbermann has been carrying the torch.

I must shower Mr. Olbermann with baked goods immediately.

Oh my God. I had forgotten what a thoughtful commentary sounded like. We better preserve it for historical purposes; it may be the last one.

I am afraid that the chemicals in the lab have clouded the good Doctor's mental faculties.

I have seen many thoughtful and accurate critiques of our misadventures in Iraq.

I am sorry to say that this is not one of them.

This is an incoherent rant.

The transcript can be found here, I think:

I know that I have a penchant for long-winded comments and so I will touch on only two points.

Somehow it is Bush's fault that there is no memorial at Ground Zero event though, according to the quote from Lincoln, none is needed. And the reason that we don't have the memorial that we do not need is because "they spend the money on irrelevant wars."

"Still, there is a last snapping flame from a final candle of respect and fairness: even his most virulent critics have never suggested he alone bears the full brunt of the blame for 9/11."

What evidence is there that it was his [Bush's] fault?

And, yes his most "virulent critics" are convinced that there was no terrorist attack but that the buildings were brought down by explosives planted by his administration.

Hmmmm.... as president, I believe Bush received security briefings. And knowledge of prior attempts. And info regarding current activities. If he had no idea what was going on, it was his mistake. If he knew and did nothing, it was his mistake. Soley his fault? no. Made possible through his negligence? Yes.

I wonder, if Al Queda attacks are unavoidable, how is it that Clinton was able to prevent the planned millenium terrorist attacks?

I'm not a big Clinton fan, but at least he was running the country in addition to using the office to advance the goals of his corporate buddies. Bush seems content to serve a very small, select group of individuals.

Hi Ubie:

I still love your blog.

I was saddened to read of that baseball bat incident.

Sorry.

Can't help myself.

This is like shooting fish in a barrel.

"Five years later, Mr. Bush, we are still fighting the terrorists on these streets. And look carefully, sir, on these 16 empty acres. The terrorists are clearly, still winning."

There have been no other attacks, but because the land is vacant the terrorists "are clearly, still winning."

Maybe Keith should get down off of his high horse and plant some radishes at the site and/or maybe pitch a tent, and then the terrorists will have lost, the 16 acres will no longer be empty.

Can you say "over-the-top hyperbole?"

I knew that you could.

If you have read the headlines you now know what the Doctor was doing in Thailand.

I never believed that cooking school story.
